Lawrence (Larry) Platt is a businessman, a lawyer and an expert in health system governance, strategic planning, executive succession planning, and philanthropic fundraising.
In Larry's role as an X∙CO Senior Partner, he brings deep expertise and proven healthcare experience drawn from his many years on both the Cedars-Sinai Health System and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Boards of Directors, based in Los Angeles. He has been a board member at Cedars-Sinai since 2000, including a term as Chairman of the Board from 2011 to 2014. Additionally, he has been on the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group Board of Directors since 2005 and the health system's Accountable Care Board of Managers since 2012. In these roles, he led enterprise-wide strategic transformation at Cedars-Sinai, as Co-Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. Also, he launched one of Cedars-Sinai's most ambitious fundraising initiatives (raising $357 million for the Medical Center's research endowment), as Chairman for Cedars-Sinai's Discovering for Life Campaign.
As an X∙CO expert partner, in 2016 Larry supported the development of Clovis Community Medical Center's Next-Decade Strategic Vision and, in 2017 he advanced the vision as an activation partner, working side-by-side with the organization's executive leaders. Also, starting in 2019 and continuing through 2021, Larry has been advising Montana-based Bozeman Health's Board Chair and Governance team, helping to update and transform its Board of Directors, and providing an end-to-end, best-practice toolkit for optimal functioning, culture, structure, effectiveness and education of its board leadership, committees, and trustees.
Larry is the Chair of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health Advisory Board. He has served on the American Jewish Congress Board of Directors and is currently a member of the Music Center Leadership Council of Los Angeles, World Presidents Organization, and Young Presidents Organization/Santa Monica Bay Chapter.
In 2016, Larry joined the Strategy Advantage team as an X∙CO Senior Partner. In this role, he is available as a 1:1 executive-to-executive partner for leaders changing healthcare.
